tradeMe
When I was a kid, I had a bunch of baseball cards. Baseball cards were often times all I thought about. I had all kinds of good shit, but my real joy came from contstantly attempting to obtain more good shit. Sometimes this meant trading good stuff I already had for other good stuff that I didn't have yet.
Now that I'm 25 and almost an adult, I have a bunch of Patagonia. Patagonia is often times all I think about. I have all kinds of good patagonia shit, but my real joy comes from constantly attempting to obtain more good patagonia shit. Sometimes I buy more good Patagonia stuff just because I don't have it yet.
I would like to propose a patagonia trading post. Maybe BB can even build us a web application to keep track of all this. Somewhere we can go and login and post patagonia to be traded, or maybe post about Patagonia we wish to trade for.
For example, right now I have a few items that I would like to discharge from my closetonia. One being an Axuwool zip T. I have two of these, and I really don't need both. I also have a solar green R.5 that i purchased in our first order of the year. I requested a Large, and the item i received is definitely marked as a large, but it is definitely too huge to be a large. After comparing mine with Alden's, I have come to the conclusion that it is actually an XL marked as an L. I would like to trade these items. Ideally, I'd like to get another R.5 in any color in an actual size Large. I'd maybe even be willing to trade both of these pullovers for one size Large R.5.
Maybe you don't have any interest in this XL R.5 marked as an L and thus you think my idea is stupid. This, however is because you are not thinking in terms of Patagonia capital. One of you out there has an R.5 that you don't really dig anymore, and you are thinking of taking me up on this trade. However, maybe you too also have more Axuwool Zip T's than you know what to do with. This is where the solar green XL marked as an L R.5 comes in. This is capital. Take my trade and then turn around and unload the XL R.5 on one of our bigger trading post members, like oh i dunno... Phil Q. I bet he has been dying for a solar green R.5.
See. It's just like baseball cards... now who wants a fucking XL solar green R.5?
